The nerve.

Today a near stranger patted my belly and said, “Well, you’re looking healthy, aren’t you?”

In other news, my mother thinks our cats are going to smother the baby.

  1. lol, my mom continuously sends me articles about the parasites and diseases dogs bring into the house. πŸ™‚ I have also heard about the cats. Don’t you know they get attracted to the smell of milk on the baby’s breath and then smother them? πŸ˜‰ Hope you are having a super fun visit!

  2. Ummmm my wife’s parents said the they will steal the babies’ breath and wanted us to get rid of our 10 year old pitbull because he will eat them, but the vicious chiauaha that bit them several times..eh keep her cause she’s cute….

  3. Even before I got pregnant my Mother In Law said one day: “so, when you decide to have a baby you’re going to have to get rid of your cats”.

I almost strangled her right then and there.

  4. Our cats have never once tried to smother Critter, although he has inadvertently tried to smother them on occasion. He just loves them, and hasn’t quite fully grasped that the best way to show this is not by launching his whole body on top of where they’re lying on the bed or whatever. (We do correct this behavior, by the way, and he does kind of understand the concept of “gentle”.) The cats, to their everlasting credit, have never so much as hissed at him for this; they just run away.

I have not had anyone touch my belly without permission yet, which is good, because I might smack them “involuntarily”.
